Ocala Recreation and Parks offers a variety of sports, programs, activities and events for kids!

Junior Park Ranger

We are training to be Summer Stewards with our Junior Ranger Program! Through the next few weeks, participants will engage in outdoor awareness, environmental protection projects, and become conservation champions through each ranger-led class. If you attend 4 out of 7 classes, you will receive a Junior Ranger pin to wear proudly during our last campfire session on 6/12.

We ask for people to pre-register to secure enough materials. All are welcome to join as walk-ins but we cannot guarantee enough supplies per program without registering/emailing ahead of time.

Junior Park Ranger Schedule

Learn to Swim

Learn to Swim consists of six lessons over a two-week period. Students are placed in groups according to their swimming levels. Students will learn how to stay safe around water, floating, strokes, how to be efficient swimmers, and additional aquatic skills.

$55 per a person | Tuesdays - Thursdays

Fort King Youth Summer Workshops

Tucked away in the center of Ocala, Fort King offers history and nature education that aims to inspire younger audiences in this new series. Each class will teach a past time activity that has been passed down through generations and will include modern day twists and skills for life today.

City Kids Summer Camp

This Fun and Exciting 8-week summer camp held at the E.D. Croskey Recreation Center includes various fun-filled recreational activities. Each themed week will offer interactive presentations, field trips, STEM projects, recreational sports, and more. Lunch and afternoon snacks are provided on most weekdays. On days that camp will not be providing lunch, parents must provide a packed lunch. CAMP WILL NOT BE IN SESSION ON RECOGNIZED FEDERAL HOLIDAYS.

Youth Summer Basketball Leagues

Your future basketball champion will enjoy our fun recreational basketball league, where we focus on the fundamentals, teamwork and sportsmanship. Evaluations will be held for each athlete to assess players skills to assign to teams.
