Human Resources & Risk Management

The Human Resources and Risk Management Department has a wide range of responsibilities, including hiring employees, providing professional development training, coordinating union negotiations and operating the City Employee Clinic.

A variety of career opportunities are offered ranging from clerical and maintenance to technical and professional, and innumerable positions in between.

We also manage the employee insurance programs for health, vision, dental, life and disability and the employer insurance programs for liability and Worker’s Compensation. It also handles the administration of the City’s self-insurance program, analyzes ways to make insurance coverage more cost effective and writes safety and insurance procedures for the City.
