Citizen's CPR

According to the American Heart Association hands only CPR has been shown to be just as effective as conventional CPR for sudden cardiac arrest; a leading cause of death in the United States. To help bring awareness of this prevalent heart problem and educate the public about life saving techniques, Ocala Fire Rescue will be offering free cardio pulmonary resuscitation classes through its Citizen's CPR program.

This non-certificate program is designed to emphasize the importance of early initiation of CPR techniques in order to increase the probabilities of survival. Participants can expect to gain knowledge of how to respond to cardio pulmonary emergencies until first responders arrive, including but not limited to: hands only CPR, proper use of an AED (automatic external defibrillator), and ways to assist choking victims.

To request a CPR class, please complete the form below. Please note that classes are for groups of 10 or more and must be held inside the city of Ocala limits (i.e. Ocala fire station, Ocala meeting site). For additional information regarding options and availability, please contact Ocala Fire Rescue's Administrative Office at (352) 629-8306.
