Vegetation Management

Trees growing near power lines are one of the primary causes of momentary and sustained power outages. To ensure that we are providing safe and reliable service to our customers, Ocala Electric Utility implements a comprehensive vegetation management program pruning and removing hazardous trees around approximately 200 miles of lines each year.

Ocala Electric Utility tree crews and contractors are line clearance certified, and trained to use pruning techniques approved by the National Arbor day foundation and ANSI A300 to maintain a safe clearance zone between the trees and the power lines, while ensuring the health of the trees.

If you are currently without power or see a tree causing sparking or hazardous conditions call Ocala Electric Utility immediately at 352-351-6666 or in an emergency 911.
