Public Education

Public Education & Outreach effectively communicates the benefits of public power and shares valuable resources to improve the quality of life in the Ocala/Marion County community. Energy conservation awareness encourages the public to preserve our natural resources and most importantly prepare youth in becoming informed citizens of tomorrow making Ocala the best place to live, play and prosper.

  • Community Events – Providing information on programs and services available to save time and money. In addition, we will provide energy conservation measures that save resources and lower monthly bills.
  • Speakers Bureau – Presenting to local civic clubs, agencies, youth groups, home owners associations, etc. to share information, answer questions and address concerns.
  • Social Media – Website, Facebook, Twitter, OEU Blog – On going and interactive communication to keep our customers informed.
  • Local Schools – STEM Program (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), Career Day, “Electricity 101," electrical safety demonstrations and energy conservation discussions.

Request a Speaker or Facility Tour

Eligibility Requirements

OEU's Public Education & Outreach will consider requests submitted by any organization, school, group, agency, church, homeowners association, etc which have been received within a minimum of 4 weeks of the event. Facility Tours must have a minimum of 5 attendees and a maximum of 30 attendees. Events must be held within OEU Service Territory.

OEU reserves the right to refuse any requests that do not agree with the Mission, Values, and Goals of the organization.

Cancellation Policy

OEU is committed to serving our customers and the community and will do our best to fulfill scheduled activities. However, it may be necessary to postpone or cancel the said request due to circumstances beyond the utility's control.

OEU Facility Tour Request

Request forms will be received and initially reviewed by our Public Education and Outreach Division. All requests will be notified of the acceptance/declination within 5 business days of being reviewed.
