Post Date:10/08/2021 12:56 PM

OCALA, Fla. (Oct. 11, 2021) – The opening of European Elegance by Lisa Russo will begin Thursday, Oct. 14, 8 a.m. at the Recreation and Parks Administration building, 828 NE Eighth Ave. The art exhibit will be on display through Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2022, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This exhibit is free and open to the public.

Lisa Russo is a Florida-based, contemporary artist trained in the traditional style of painting. After earning her BFA degree, Russo studied under a traditional oil painter to learn the techniques and methods used to create many of the masterpieces from the 1600s. As an art educator, she continued to hone her skills as she shared her techniques and knowledge. During her time teaching for the public-school system and private students, she completed her Master of Education and is currently working on her Master of Fine Arts degree. Lisa has traveled throughout Europe which has heavily influenced her style and technique and she finds inspiration in the human figure. The old-world masters are a constant source of inspiration and that style is prevalent throughout her work.

Always pushing art to new levels, Russo holds a U.S. patent for a convertible canvas that allows a two-dimensional painting to display in various three-dimensional forms. This original format adds an unconventional twist to the traditional.

Lisa and her husband have two children, a son and a daughter, who give much inspiration to her work. Her interest in bodybuilding assists in her studies of the figure. Often you can catch her painting with her faithful dog under her easel. She continues to feed her passion for painting daily and looks for new inspiration in everything that she does.
