OCALA, Fla. (March 6, 2024) – The City of Ocala Water Resources Department encourages water utility customers sign up for a free EyeOnWater® account, which connects customers to their smart water meter.

Using EyeOnWater®, customers can access their daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly water usage, and receive potential leak notifications. Customers can go a step further and use the savings calculator to identify potential water saving actions like installing high-efficiency toilets.

To sign up for a free EyeOnWater® account:

1. Visit https://eyeonwater.com/signup or download the EyeOnWater® from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
2. Enter the account number, found on customer utility bill. Enter the account number using a hyphen between each of the six digits. (Ex: 123456-123456)
3. Enter billing ZIP code.
4. Click next.
5. Enter your email address.
6. Create and confirm a password.
7. Check the email and verify the address by clicking the confirmation link from Badger Meter Inc.
8. Sign in and let the water savings begin!

In 2019, the city began replacing water meters with upgraded smart meters. These new smart meters no longer require manual water reads. The city is currently in the process of replacing the remaining water meters.
