Ocala Recreation and Parks Department to Host 'Save the Panther' Program

OCALA, Fla. (Feb. 6, 2024) – The City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department will host the ‘Save the Panther’ program and movie night for National Save the Florida Panther Day Saturday, March 16, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Fort King National Historic Landmark, 3925 E. Fort King St.

Rangers and other experts will present information about these endangered animals and conservation efforts to save them. Crafts will be available for the kids and a dusk trail hike will begin before showing the Florida Film Festival winner, “Path of the Panther.”

“Path of the Panther” follows a wildlife photographer, veterinarians, ranchers, conservationists, and indigenous people who find themselves on the front lines of an accelerating battle between forces of renewal and destruction that have pushed the Everglades to the brink of ecological collapse.

The movie will start near sundown and is rated PG with a run time of approximately 90 minutes.
