OCALA, Fla. (Dec. 12, 2023) – The City of Ocala, in partnership with Marion Cultural Alliance (MCA), the Ocala Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Commission, and Ocala Juneteenth Celebration Commission invite local visual artists to apply to paint double-sided metal street panels (eight-feet tall by four-feet wide) live during the 2024 Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series.

Artists whose designs are accepted must be able to paint during the Friday concert event, 6 to 9 p.m., for ten weeks. Artists will choose their number of appearances at the concert series.

This opportunity is open to artists currently working and residing in Marion County, and the surrounding North Central Florida area including, Alachua, Citrus, Flagler, Lake, Levy, Orange, Putnam, Sumter, and Volusia counties. It is free to apply. All designs will be approved before the start of the 2024 Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series to ensure the artwork will be family-friendly, non-political, and without copyright infringement. Accepted artists or art groups will receive a $250 honorarium after the concert series.

Applications can be found online at www.ocalafl.gov/levittamp. Entries can be submitted via email to artinfo@ocalafl.gov or mailed to the City of Ocala Cultural Arts, 201 SE 3rd St., 2nd Floor, Ocala, FL 34471.

Deadline to apply is Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024, at 11:59 p.m.

After the 2024 Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series, the newly painted panels will replace the current panels located at the Ocala Skate Park in celebration of the next phase of the Skate Park construction.
