OCALA, Fla. (Dec. 6, 2023) – The City of Ocala will host a neighborhood meeting to share information about the Fisher Park flood mitigation project on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 5:30 p.m., at St. John’s Lutheran School, 1915 SE Lake Weir Ave.  The meeting will take place in the Cafetorium located behind the sanctuary.

The proposed project will address flooding within the neighborhood by expanding the current pond and upgrading the current lift stations.  During the meeting, City staff will provide information about the critical nature of the flood mitigation project, offer more details about the project timeline, take citizen input, and address any questions. A critical aspect of this meeting is to listen to citizen input, discuss options that will reduce the impact of flooding, and retain valued recreational amenities that make the Fisher Park neighborhood special.
