'Legends of the Fort' Event Rescheduled Due to Inclement Weather

OCALA, Fla. (April 27, 2023) – Due to the potential of inclement weather, the ‘Legends of the Fort’ event scheduled Saturday, April 29, 6 to 10 p.m. at Fort King National Historic Landmark, 3925 E. Fort King St. is rescheduled for Saturday, May 13.

Previously purchased tickets for this event will be honored on the new event date. Guests unable to attend on the rescheduled date may request a refund by calling 352-368-5533. General admission is $10 per person. Tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased here.

OCALA, Fla. (Feb. 28, 2023) – The Ocala Recreation and Parks Department will host a second ‘Legends of the Fort’ at Fort King National Historic Landmark, 3925 E. Fort King St., Saturday, April 29, 6 to 10 p.m.

Guests will step back into history to meet the legends of Fort King’s past.  A one-hour guided lantern tour will present tales from the past while guests learn about the grounds of Ocala’s Seminole War historic site. Group tours will depart every 15 minutes. Old-fashioned games such as checkers, horseshoes, cornhole, and live music will round out the evening of fun. Refreshments will also be available for purchase.

This is a ticketed event and must be purchased in advance. General admission is $10 per person. Tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased here.

Guests are encouraged to park at the Duke Energy power line field located between NE 43rd Avenue and NE 44th Avenue on the north side of E Fort King Street, approximately a quarter mile east of the Fort. Free shuttles and trams will be running continuously throughout the event for pickups and drop-offs. A special tram will be available for handicapped or disabled guests.
