City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department Announces Inaugural Soggy Doggy Swim

OCALA, Fla. (Oct. 4, 2022) – The Ocala Recreation and Parks Department will host the first Soggy Doggy Swim Saturday, Nov. 5 at Jervey Gantt Aquatics Center, 2390 SE 36th Ave.  There will be two swim sessions to accommodate various animal sizes.

The doggy swim will consist of two sessions, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for dogs less than 21 inches and 1 to 2:30 p.m. for dogs taller than 21 inches. Each session is limited to the first 50 dogs per size. Owners must show proof of rabies, DHLP, and Bordetella vaccinations. Dogs must always wear collars and tags while at the pool. By order of the Marion County Health Department, owners are not permitted to enter the water at any time. 

The cost is $10 per dog paid onsite. Limit of one dog per owner. Concessions will be available for snacks and refreshments.  No outside food or drink is allowed.
