UPDATE: Hispanic Senior Wellness Fair Rescheduled - Oct. 8

OCALA, Fla. (Sept. 28, 2022) – Due to potential severe weather associated with Hurricane Ian, the Hispanic Senior Wellness Fair at Citizens’ Circle, 151 SE Osceola Ave., has been rescheduled for Saturday, Oct. 8, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This event will feature over 20 vendors, two food trucks, and entertainment from local dance groups.  Vendors will have informational sessions to share how they support the Hispanic Community.

OCALA, Fla. (Sept. 2, 2022) – The City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department will host a Hispanic Senior Wellness Fair at Citizens’ Circle, 151 SE Osceola Ave., Saturday, Oct. 1, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month.

This nationally recognized month is an opportunity to raise awareness about the healthcare gaps that exist in Hispanic communities.  This free event will feature multiple agencies on-site to provide resources and answer questions about health and wellness. Local health professionals will provide hourly health sessions in the areas of fitness, health care, insurance and social services.

This event will feature over 20 vendors, two food trucks, and entertainment from local dance groups.  Vendors will have informational sessions to share how they support the Hispanic Community.  

The headline speaker will be Dr. S. Pares, M.D. from Lifeforce Healthcare. Dr. Pares has served as a physician in Florida for over 30 years and received both his medical degree and pharmacy degree from the University of Colorado. He is triple board certified in Family Medicine, Geriatrics and Hospice and Palliative Care - a distinction that is rare and highly valued. He also serves as a community faculty member for family medicine residents at Ocala Regional Medical Center for geriatric education.  Dr. Pares is fluent in English and Spanish and has a passion for correcting healthcare disparities and mentoring new clinicians.
