Post Date:03/30/2022 7:00 PM

OCALA, Fla. (March 30, 2022) – The City of Ocala is conducting an electronic survey to better understand residents’ opinions of public art in the community. This survey is available now through Saturday, April 30 at https://s.surveyplanet.com/tmh1yrae

“The goal of this survey is to collect feedback from the community that will help the Ocala Cultural Arts and Sciences Division create the City’s Strategic Public Art Plan,” said Laura Walker, Cultural Arts and Sciences Division Head.  “This survey will ask participants how they relate to public art, what kind of public art they enjoy viewing, and where they currently view art pieces.  Community feedback allows us to identify the public art needs of our city, from both a business and public perspective.”

According to City staff, information received from this survey will be gathered and compiled internally.  Results from this survey will be utilized in the development of a 10-year Strategic Public Art Plan for the community, which will include the current public art collection, definitions of public art terms, strategies for public art funding, long-term maintenance and deaccessioning, prioritized locations and types of future public art.
