City of Ocala to Host Brownfields Lunch and Learn - June 8

Post Date:06/01/2023 4:35 PM

OCALA, Fla. (June 1, 2023) – The City of Ocala’s Growth Management Department will host a lunch and learn to provide an in-depth look at the Brownfields Program Thursday, June 8, noon to 1 p.m. at the Brick City Center for the Arts, 23 SW Broadway St.

A brownfield site is a property where actual or perceived environmental contamination complicates its expansion or redevelopment. Sites may be contaminated with hazardous substances, petroleum, pesticides, metals and asbestos.

This event is an opportunity for contractors, property owners, realtors, and the public to determine what a brownfield area is, the history of brownfields in Ocala, and grant opportunities for site assessment.

This workshop is free and open to the public. A light lunch will be provided.

For more information regarding the City of Ocala Brownfields Program visit www.ocalafl.org/brownfields  or call 352-629-8404.
